Student Success/G.R.O.W. Advisor

Coach suspended students that participate in the G.R.O.W. Program. This is done by providing them with the resources and tools that they need to become successful students not just in the program but also once they exit the program. This is done by:

  • Reaching out to suspended students at the end of each term.
  • Reviewing the G.R.O.W Agreement with each student before participation in the program.
  • Conducting bi-weekly meetings with each student (class and grade check in’s and review of modules (student lingo workshops, goals, and an assortment of videos, worksheets and activities).
  • Academic monitoring done through conversation with the students as well as progress reports requested from their professors (bi-weekly).
  • Make referrals/provide resources to students as needed (AEC, career center, CAPS, etc.).
  • Maintain a detailed file/notes on each student and their progress in Navigate.


Other responsibilities as a G.R.O.W. Advisor:

  • Creating/maintaining several G.R.O.W. D2L classrooms each semester
  • Development of modules/curriculum for student to complete in the G.R.O.W program.
  • Review and grading of all GROW assignments /quizzes prior to meeting with students.
  • End of term evaluation of student to determine academic status.


Responsibilities as a Student Success Advisor:

  • Advises current military-affiliated students.
  • Advises incoming freshman.
  • Provides academic advisement to students.
  • Make referrals/provide resources to students as needed (AEC, career center, CAPS, etc.).

  • Assists with orientation as needed.
