Environmental Services Tech & Team Lead
06.2015 - 09.2017
  • My job as a housekeeper is very important just as important as a nurse or a doctor. I may not interact as much with the patients as they do, but with my job I make sure that the hospital is kept clean so that the patients don’t get sick from previous patients. I do love getting to interact with the patients even if it’s just cleaning their room or just saying hi in the hallway. The things I do as a housekeeper is sanitizing restrooms and cleaning everyday essentials. I clean discharges if asked. Right now I am a housekeeper in the Endoscopy area, so my job is to be on top of my toes to get the pre rooms and the post rooms done fast so that the next patient can come in and be seen on time for the scheduled appointment. In the area we work as a team so they need extra work done. I help them out by doing so.
  • As a team lead my role is to lead the day crew when asked to do so. In the morning I have to get their Dars done so they can be ready and know what’s going on for the day. I lead them in example by helping them if they are struggling to get their duties done, I keep an eye on the bed board so that no rooms go uncleaned such as a discharge, I watch them interact with the patients while they do AIDET and every quarter I help get the ATP testing done to insure that the rooms are being cleaned correctly and talk to the employee about the results. I do delegate at times to get stuff done, such as an Emma call or a phone call to us to get a patient’s rooms cleaned or even a restroom cleaned or a spill in the building. Also as a team lead I train new employees or employees that just need a retraining.
