As a Resident Supervisor, my job duties expanded variously

  • Supervise and maintain safety of all detainees, interview and process incoming detainees, transport detainees to and from medical facilities, teach the detainees the rules and guidelines of the facility, teach the resident of their rights, input all new detainees into the system as by 'quickway' and 'workflow', handle detainee property, document all property at arrival and put away as per policy, issue badges, handle money, house the detainees

At this facility I held two permanent posts, Intake and Front Lobby

  • My duties in intake were to receive the detainees at sally port entrance, confirm all the detainees per Ice Paperwork, prepare all shower bags for the detainees, send the detainees to medical to await clearance before able to shower, after shower begin the process of collecting all property and valuables such as jewelry and all types of foreign currency and US currency, once property was tagged and put away, then would begin the process of sizing the detainees for proper clothes and shoes, once sized forms sent over to clothing were I too would prepare all the detainees clothes for their stay at the facility, ensure that the clothes given was verified and signed by myself and detainee before sending off to housing, after property and clothing was finalized then would begin the initial intake, would interview the detainees and put into the system
  • Badges would be assigned and housing would be assigned
  • Front Lobby duties were to maintain protocols on who can enter the facility
  • Always ensure that every CARA, CIS, Employees maintained a clearance to enter
  • Answered telephones and routed calls or delivered messages.
