Professional Goals Statement

As an educator, I prioritize providing students with interactive and collaborative lessons that foster their connection to the learning material, enrich their critical thinking, support their achievement, and provide them with a comprehensive understanding of a diverse array of concepts. In addition to teaching, I would like to pursue research on creativity and achievement, as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion. I believe psychologists will benefit from enhancing the diversity within the field by developing a more comprehensive understanding of people, which will likely contribute to the success and achievement outcomes of individuals in an increasingly diverse world. I also aspire to contribute to the understanding of how ethnic and cultural diversity in groups can enhance academic, professional, and creative success. I see my primary role as shared between being an educator and a researcher. In the future, I aim to continue my teaching and research endeavors. In both professional realms, I hope to contribute to a better understanding of psychological phenomena, bolster academic, creative, and professional achievement outcomes for people from diverse backgrounds, enhance educational environments and experiences of all students, and promote positive, prosocial, and mutually beneficial intergroup relationships.
