Work History

Peer Recovery Support Specialist

Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield
04.2024 - 05.2026
  • As a Peer Recovery Support Specialist on the Behavioral Health Team, I work referrals and connect engaged members to resources in their community that are necessary to improve their life from circumstances of various types of crisis. We walk alongside them on their journey from recovery from addiction, homelessness and unmanaged mental health challenges.

House manager of Women’s Sober Living

NEA Divine Intervention
12.2021 - 03.2024
  • First I was hired as House manager of Women’s Sober Living with job duties including; advocating for parents in Family’s Court, mentoring, teaching budgeting, corrective action for disciplinary issues, facilitating house and recovery meetings, and connecting them to resources on their journey to regaining independence and reunification with their children.
  • Then, the Executive Director opened a RCO (recovery centered organization). I was hired on as Office Administration, under the ARORP grant to connect individuals in some type of crisis from homelessness, addiction, domestic violence, human trafficking, or mental health challenges, to the appropriate resources in their communities.
  • Lastly, after certification, I was moved to the position of PRSS (Peer Recovery Support Specialist) under DHS. The job duties required for this included attending coalition meetings and networking with other organizations to build partnerships with various law enforcement and government agencies. As a PRSS, advocacy in court, going into the jails for one on ones, and conducting recovery meetings inside the jails were also required. PRSS also helped in preparation of grant packets and informing individuals of all options of treatment and assisting with placement into such facilities.
