My initial experience at TNT allowed me to learn the basics of rigging and taxi-type crane operations. As my career ventured to 3rd party operations for wireline, coil tubing, and general pad preparation, after years I found my way back to TNT and was exposed to refinery shutdown work. Both of these paths were rewarding and I found myself comfortable with any environment without bias. Although it was an adjustment, going from a decade of well-service and general oilfield labor to a more professional work environment, the experience in much rougher jobs has had a lasting ability to keep me appreciative of this career.
I will always trust that my experience and perspective sets me apart from a life long operator, and allows me to relate, and by extension, communicate more effectively with the customers in my craft.
From 2004 to 2014, aside from a short time of around a year or so beam walking for the construction side of Dolese Bros, based out of the Davis Oklahoma quarry, and an even shorter time cleaning mud pits for drilling rigs, I have spent years working my way from a well service derrick hand to eventually becoming a driller. After working for both Shebester Bechtel based out of maysville, and Basic Energy Services Based out of both Velma and Lindsay, I reached the highest position that a man of my age could have hoped to reach. This was a hard lesson, that no matter how high you climb the ladder, an unrewarding career will never cease to be unrewarding.
This puts us here today, with 11 years in the crane industry. Still learning, and still enjoying what this business brings me in terms of a sense of accomplishment and pride. It would be my pleasure to serve any perspective employer with what I have gained in skills, experience, and the passion I have for picking things up, and putting them down.
