Here at Los Angeles Conservation Corps, we get familiar with miserable conditions. We learn to use many hand tools and machine tools such as McLeod, pitchforks, loppers, rock rakes, chainsaws, weed eaters, etc.
Trail Maintenance - Provide safe access to public land, construct trails, brushing, and open pathways for animals such as horses.
Caltrans Work - Perform litter abatement, paying special attention to hazardous materials found on the roadside and necessary precautions for dealing with such materials. We also assist with roadside furl reduction using hand and power tools to remove grass, shrubs, and small, medium-sized trees.
Tree Maintenance - We go around watering trees, checking for any problems such as stakes falling off or any tree tie ripped, just ensuring the tree is stable and alive.
Concrete Cutting - We cut floor concrete to make way for new trees to be planted around Los Angeles.
