Managed care for the critically ill. Skills apart from the nursing process and care of patient and family included:

CVVH, CRRT, ventilator management, titration of drips, line placement,sterile procedures. Pt population included

GI bleeds, sepsis, ETOH withdrawal, critical non surgical patients.

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

Managed care for the critically ill from admission to discharge including ventilator management, titration of drips, bedside procedures, line placement, sterile procedures, conscious sedation. This was family centered care.

Worked full time as float pool nurse for the division in its entirety.

Division , Women's Unit (med/surge).Pediatrics, PICU,L&D (baby nurse present at delivery) High Risk Antepartum, and Mother/Baby.

Duties: Care of neonates 28 wks gestation to term, lines, gtts, intubated infants, hi flow, care of newborn in labor rm including first assessment, vaccine, glucose, mother/infant bonding, assessing when to transfer infant to NICU or Newborn nursery.

Care of 5 patient women's assignment including mastectomies, hysterectomies, dressings changes, drains, care of surgical sites.

Care of high risk maternal fetal medicine monitoring for premature labor, fetal heart tones, eclampsia.

CVICU Pediatric Open Heart

Care of patients from newborn to 18. Care included all skills needed for the congenital heart, idiopathic myocardiopathy, all surgical repairs, cath lab patients.

Travel position as NICU NURSE in 75 bed unit.

Provided care for all non surgical coronary care patients.

Skills included, AMI, Coronary Syndromes, CHF, post Cath lab and angioplasty patients, use of Artic Sun to induce post arrest hypothermia, IABP, swan catheters, drips invasive monitoring. Served as CLINICAL COORDINATOR for 5 years. Served as Chairperson of the Resuscitation committee as a policy changer for the hospital in its entirety. Was nominated as leader of Excellence.

Served Med-Surgical patients and the Progressive Care Unit executing nursing policy, following the plan of care giving beds, caring for pre and post op patients.
