  • Provide immediate assistance to assess, treat and stabilize a patient whose condition is deteriorating. Use clinical expertise and advance assessment skills to support the primary nurse, physician, patient, and patient’s family. Facilitate transferring the patient to higher level of care when necessary. Provide early intervention to reduce cardiac and respiratory arrest in hospital, reduce the number of patients requiring a transfer to a higher level of care, reduce patient intubations, and ultimately reduce the number of hospital deaths.

Advocated for improvement for our unit by collecting data and information that lead to our unit acquiring two Arctic Sun machines to improve our care of Target Temperature Management patients. Educated staff on use, implementation, and management of Arctic Sun for hypothermia post cardiac arrest.
