Human Resource Coordinator

Sheetz
Kent, OH
10.2023 - Current
  • As a Human Resource Coordinator with Sheetz, I have three main areas of responsibility.
  • Recruiting: I oversee staffing for the entire district, which totals 8 stores, with 4 more coming in the next 2 years. I manage our recruiting application, ICIMS.
  • I open job postings and requisitions as needed for each store. I monitor these requisitions by screening applicants, scheduling and delivering interviews, and coordinating with in-store management to make sure we are on the same page with candidate selection.
  • I move applicants through all positions in the hiring pipeline, from screening applications to onboarding new hires.
  • I help our performance development specialist team by planning and coordinating training schedules for new hires.
  • I keep up communication with in-store managers during each step of the hiring process. I am very knowledgeable in benefits, payroll, job perks, and Sheetz policy and procedures.
  • I head up job fairs and hiring events for the district.
  • Team Management: I oversee a team of 15 shift supervisors. They are in a program we call Flex Supervisor. I dispatch these managers to understaffed and struggling stores, or stores with in-house management that is on vacation, or on leave of absence.
  • I manage all the schedules for the flex supervisor.
  • I run the team and deal with any progressive discipline, performance reviews, and I set yearly goals for each supervisor, both personal and company goals.
  • I coordinate and host biweekly team meetings.
  • I interview, hire, and develop individual training plans for each supervisor.
  • I work closely with stores to monitor labor and develop plans to keep my team from causing extra labor hours in the stores.
  • HR/Employee Relations:
  • I am the liaison between the stores and our corporate HR department.
  • I conduct in-store investigations as they arise. Be it employee issues, customer issues, theft, violation of company policy, etc.
  • I work closely with our HR department to question employees when necessary, gain feedback from the employees, and make sure everything is conducted fairly and thoroughly.
