Provide high quality critical care to medical and surgical cardiac patients of the adult, pediatric, and neonatal population. Duties include assessment, medication administration, inotropic support, telemetry monitoring, strict measurement of intake and output, nutrition management, blood draws, central venous pressure monitoring, discharge planning, coordination with multi-disciplinary treatment team, crisis intervention, and advanced education to patients and families. Often performing in the role as Charge Nurse; managing and assisting patients to and from procedures in a 48 bed-unit, resourcing and mentoring new nurses, and and overall bed capacity within the Heart Center.

• Responsible for providing direct care for patients in an inpatient telemetry and specialty unit through the use of the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. Experience in care of acute and chronic patients with a wide variety of neurological, metabolic, cardiac, orthopedic and respiratory disorders, as well as postoperative patients. Experience in dealing with patients with external ventricular devices, as well as tracheostomies.
