Human Rights Club
As the founder and president of my middle school’s Human Rights Club, I led weekly three-hour sessions with over 15 members, using films, news articles, and discussions to explore topics such as discrimination, privilege, and identity. I often conducted independent research to teach the group, which strengthened my communication and leadership skills. In the fall, I organized our participation in the Gwanghwamun City Human Rights Fair, overseeing the theme, budgeting, scheduling, and operation of a booth focused on protecting the rights of LGBTQ+ students. Despite exam season challenges, the event was a success and taught me valuable lessons in initiative, teamwork, and civic responsibility.
Global Leadership Camp
I participated in the Global Leadership Program at Green River College, an intensive leadership development experience focused on intercultural communication, inclusive leadership, and ethical team collaboration. Working with a diverse group of international students, I developed and applied leadership skills through group projects that addressed real campus issues such as improving online learning, enhancing faculty-student relationships, and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. This experience deepened my understanding of global perspectives and strengthened my ability to lead in multicultural environments.
