Expanded West Penn Power Storm Preparedness to assign storm roles to all employees. I worked with supervisors and mangers to fill and address vacancies in the WPP storm process.
Lead the Troubleman team to build consistency across West Penn Power for Troubleman expectations. This covered all aspects of the Troublemans work from restoring customers to general time keeping.
Controlled costs by making capital repairs on West Penn Power facilities and by controlling spending on tools and equipment for the crews.
Developed strong work practices on identifying UG facilities that were at end of life to reduce outage times, simplify trouble shooting and spend capital dollars on the right facilities.
Developed Linemen leadership skills by mentoring and leading by example. Developed under class linemen by sharing lessons learned in the past on every opportunity.
Worked with FEU Safety to develop a program called "The Road to Safe Driving". This program was used to train Operations employees across all 10 First energy OpCos and enabled West Penn Power and all of FEU to meet the driving KPI's for several years in a row.
Lead Linecrews on numerous out of town storm trips inside and outside of West Penn Power/First Energy with great success. I am very proud of the outstanding safety performance on these efforts.

Worked as a Coordinator in the Substation Support Team. In this role I assisted numerous efforts to improve safety for all of the Allegheny Power electricians. Some of these efforts were creating the original Job Briefing forms, PPE requirements when working, safe work on energized transformers, fall protection on power transformers and confined space/enclosed space procedures.
Lead a team that developed a hurt man rescue procedure for removing an injured or unconscious victim from the inside of a power transformer. Helped train the first employees and develop a program to train all electricians across Allegheny Power.
Supervised electricians in the Kittanning Shop in the maintenance and construction of Substation facilities. Addressed numerous safety concerns from this crew.

Entered boot camp for the USMC in 1986. I completed MP school at Lackland AFB and served in the USMCR for 6 years.
Progressed to the rank of E-4
Deployed to the Gulf War 1990-1991. During this deployment, my job as an MP was to build a prison camp, process, care for and keep safe over 90,000 Iraqi prisoners of war.
I was decorated for my efforts in Kuwait with a Navy Achievement Medal for Outstanding Service and the Southwest Asia Service Medal.
