I was the Legal Advocate for our local dometic violence center. I prepared the Temporary Restraining Orders with the women one on one, called the on duty Superior Court Judge (which included Judge Roper) to get a court date. I attended the initial hearing with the women either to present their case to the Judge if client was intimidated, or I was there to help file the paperwork and get the next court date set for her. Judge Roper knew that we serviced 12 counties and I assisted with anyone in the outer rural counties we served.
