  • Manages the daily operations of the Child Development Center, indoor and outdoor meeting fire, safety and health requirements.
  • Executes supervision and accountability procedures to protect children, staff, and visitors.
  • Manages APF and NAF resources and maximizes resources to the greatest extent possible. Currently working with the State of California to obtain education grants to support the financial operations of the program and quality service.
  • Closes deficiencies for the comprehensive and multidisciplinary inspection corrective action report.
  • Successfully reported all incidents or accidents as outlined in this Instruction to the Child and Youth Services Flight Chief within 24 hours of incident.
  • Maintained and created positive relationships with assisting agencies to ensure the program service meets all AFI 34-144, NAEYC Standards, and policies in place. (i.e., background checks, physicals, and designated training.)
  • Continues to manage and lead 36 staff of 46 to meet mission requirement of offering quality, affordable, and available care. Working with HRO to recruit and retain staff daily.
  • Oversees the safety of 127 of 152 children daily, meeting all standards outlined by safety, fire, health and sanitation.

Family Child Care Coordinator/ Assistant Director

  • Coordinator over 5 family childcare homes. Each home maintaining enrollment of 6 children, ranging in ages of 2 weeks to 12 years old.
  • Training family childcare providers on safety, health and sanitation, fire and program home inspections. Ensuring all homes meet the Department of Defense regulations and abide by the State of California Laws.
  • Inspecting and assisting in organizing homes prior to licensing. Ensuring all areas of the home are developmentally appropriate for the ages enrolled.
  • Actively working with educating vendors to produce material that family childcare programs are in need of to care for children out of their homes under the Air Force guidelines.
  • Succeeded in relinquishing State of California Jurisdiction of Family Childcare licensing regulations for homes located on military housing units. Currently working with State Officials to allow off base housing families affiliated with the military to be licensed soley under the Department of the Air Force. Increasing the availability for care positively effecting military families.
  • Allocating over $300,000 in a fiscal year, purchasing materials that will assist with the function of the Family Child Care, Child Development and School Liaison program.
  • Assists the Child Development Center Director in the daily operations of the Child Development Center. Supports the CDC Director in the development, implementation and oversight of all elements of the Child Development Center program through activities, experiences, supportive interactions and positive social development.
  • Assists the Director in planning and assigning work to be accomplished, including preparation and adjustment of schedules for daily, weekly and monthly operations.
  • Assists in the administration and evaluation of ongoing programs of individual and group developmental and educational activities for staff implementation and execution. Provides assistance and oversight in the care of full day, part day and specialized settings to promote cognitive, physical and emotional growth of children ages 6 weeks to 5 years or those with those with physical, intellectual and developmental disabilities that function at an age comparable to those previously stated. Provides assistance in identifying children not meeting age group expectations and consults with the staff to ensure that children succeed in the early childhood environment.
  • Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Selects or recommends selection of candidates for vacancies, promotions, details, and reassignment in consideration of skills, qualifications, and mission requirements. Develops, modifies, and/or interprets performance standards. Explains performance expectations to employees and provides regular feedback on strengths and weaknesses. Holds employees responsible for satisfactory completion of work assignments.
  • Assists in managing the purchases of supplies, travel, training, contracted services, and capital expenditures. Tracks and analyzes expenditures and assures accounting of all funds and assets. Purchases all program, playground supplies, equipment and furnishings. Ensures staff is properly trained in cash handling procedures to include collecting, recording and deposition all fees/charges.
