- As a part of a Highschool course in which I received my EKG certification, I was required to participate in intermittent clinical rotations at HCA Northwest Hospital, where students shadowed workers whose jobs varied from nursing to transportation workers. This occured 3 days a week fortnightly during school hours. While shadowing, students were expected to offer help in any way that wasn’t a medical task (aside from performing CPR in emergency situations), this included retrieving items at a workers request, helping transport patients throughout the hospital, delivering items throughout the hospital, and more. Students were also expected to dress and act appropriately as I would often interact with patients.
