As a teacher's assistant, my duties are to assist the teacher with the children in the classroom. I assist the children by helping them with their classwork. If the teacher needs for me to Xerox papers for her, I do that as well. I assist in Pre-K and Kindergarten. In Pre K, I assist the children in the lunchroom by giving them their food and making sure that they clean up after themselves when they finish eating. I also make sure that they goto the bathroom and lay down for naptime. When they wake up from their nap, they go to the bathroom, and go eat their snack. Once they finish with their snack, they go back to the classroom and listen to a story, then I go to the Kindergarten classroom and assist the children there with their Math assignment. I also make sure that the Kindergarten children have homework in their homework folders.
As the instructor, I made sure that the children, girls, ages 9-16 did the assignments as needed. I also made sure that camp counselors under me were doing their job as well My duty was to be the first person on the site so that I could be there when the first child arrived, my time was from 8:00 until 3:00. I was the first one there and the last person to leave, I had to wait until the last child left. I also made sure that we had the necessary supplies that we needed day by day by communicating with the camp coordinator. I really enjoyed being in charge over the all girls summer camp.
As an instructor for Youth Guidance, my duties were to help the children with their homework. After they finished their homework, they were allowed to play board games. We had Uno, Sorry, Monopoly, Checkers, and Connect Four. I played games with the children, they really enjoyed the program.
