Jocelyn Taylor

I have been working for Chicago Public Schools for 36 years. I work at Horace Mann Elementary school. I am a Teacher's Assistant II. I work with Kindergarten, I have also worked with Pre K. I have also worked the after school program Community schools, I assisted the children from 1-2 grades with their homework as well as other activities such as Arts and Crafts.

I was in charge of an all girls day camp, ages 8-16. My job was to oversee the program by making sure that the girls were doing what they were supposed to do. I was also over 4 camp counselors by making sure that they were on time for work and if they were going to be late, they would check in with me to let me know and I would let the manager know that they were going to be late. I also made sure that we had supplies because they had different assignments to do everyday. I would communicate back and forth with the site manager. I would make sure that the camp was ran smoothly. If the girls were having issues with one another, I would talk to them privately. I really enjoyed the program. I hope i get a chance to work a program like that tjis summer.

Community Schools is an after school program that was held at my school from 3:00 p.m.until 5:00 p.m. My title was Instructor, I was responsible for children in grades 1 & 2, I assisted them with homework. After they finished their homework, they played games. I played games with them such as Uno, Monopoly, etc.
