Works as a full time staff nurse in Radiation Oncology, out patient setting, hospital based location. We care for patients on consult or undergoing radiation therapy. This involves comprehensive assessment, interdisciplinary collaboration, documentation, triage, symptomatic management, nursing education, starting peripheral IV access, blood draws, accessing ports, medication administration (orally, intravenously, intramuscularly, etc), inserting foley catheters, wound dressing, assisting during procedure/exams and anesthesia cases, monitoring and recovery post anesthesia. Participates with team discussion and coordination of patient care. Acts independently with critical thinking and makes emergent actions/interventions as needed. Demonstrates excellent time management skills, often multi-tasking. Establishes and develops professional strong rapport with patients and families to foster trust, open communication and healing.

Cares for patient on consult and undergoing pain and related procedures. Assists during procedure with live fluoroscopy, and/or under anesthesia sedation. Comprehensive assessment and symptomatic intervention. Coordinates Rx with pharmacy. Calls insurance for prior auth.

Works as a Staff Nurse in Interventional Radiology. Cares for patients undergoing procedures. Involves a comprehensive assessment and obtaining history, blood draws, obtaining consent, starting peripheral IV access, insertion and removal of foley catheter, application/change of dressing(s), specimen collection as needed. Underwent training, certification and performed insertion of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter with EKG confirmation by RN. Works and takes on call shifts for emergent cases during off hours. Assists with patient scheduling and coordination of care. Collaborates with interdisciplinary departments especially with in-patient hospital transport, patient care, coordinates with providers and related care givers. Health teaching and nursing education, discharge instructions and follow up care as needed.
