- Increased sales revenue with targeted marketing campaigns and strategic product positioning such as the Plush in the floral department. Last year I worked with buyers to introduce a Plush display to help maximize sales of this item. In six months, the Lakeland division created 1.3 million dollars in sales, that is 378,000 dollars more than Miami, Jacksonville, Atlanta, and Charlotte Division combined. With over 57,000 units more sold then all other four divisions combined.
I have had the honor of being a part of a lot of extra projects while in the lakeland division:
- Video shoots for Tod Jones to address customers during covid, photo shoots for the rock, videos for the new Kentucky store launch.
- I had the pleasure of building the background with the buying team and other RIS' from our team for our Feeding America campaign for Todd Jones to share with the community the amount of food we donated to them over y the years.
- I have been involved in the back of the house project and helping design a backroom that is more effcient in the day to day operations.
- I was invited to build floral displays at the green house where I worked closely with the Dustin Myers, TS team and the floral suppliers and some of their team. To see the way the suppliers team were interested in our merchandising strategy in the stores was definitely impacting on my out look as to how important our relationship is with them and the respect they have for our business plan to help change the trajectory of the retail floral business.
- Myself and two other team members were invited to visit one of our new local floral suppliers, a family owned farm called Worden Farms. The opportunity to learn about their farm operation and work with them in designing the sunflower bouquet and see the excitement they had to work with us was very humbling. They worked with Dustin to design the packaging and shipping box. Before this visit I was not aware of the input the suppliers can have on the whole process. To hear their ideas and see the excitement to work with Publix really helped me to understand the importance of the relationship between the two purchaser and supplier. To witness Dustin's poise when explaining the needs as well as the expectations of the relationship between the two was when I knew I wanted to be a part of that in the near future for my career.
