Summary

I have thirty-one years of experience in Emergency Medical Services, with twenty-six of those functioning at the Paramedic/Critical Care Paramedic level. During this time, I have been able to work in rural, urban, and hospital environments. Through a previous agreement with West Des Moines EMS and UnityPoint Health, I have experience working with interdisciplinary teams in coordinating the transport of critical patients who were often intubated and on a ventilator, with multiple medication infusions, a cardiac monitor, and, at times, an intra-aortic balloon pump. I have been able to travel throughout the state of Iowa with local pediatric and neonate transport teams, caring for sick and injured children. Through my experience in education with DMACC, I have been able to remain proficient and up to date in the latest science, technology, and skills related to prehospital medicine.
