Presented restructure to the Fire Chief of OCFD, (now retired), in turn was granted approval, FD collaboration and support.
Created succession plan program, remains active, with yearly outreach for 100% donation-based units. Fire Department–maintains and manages units, at no additional cost.
5 year results-
Nine donated, installed, maintained units- each unit with weather proof alarm cabinet- at a estimated cost of $3500 +/- ( market fluctuations) each.
10 AED deployments in which 2 units were used for shocking patients, independent events, resulting in realtime, lifesaving measures and transport that would have otherwise resulted in delay of patient care and increased mortality probability.
Results- by focusing on brainstorming, solutions, and outcomes, projects with activities presentations and coursework... critical thinking, solutions driven inquiries were applied, addressing real world inequalities and solutions in turn enhancing coursework and testing elevating student's critical thinking and course success.
