Admit and assess patients postoperatively. Complete active orders.

Distribute medications in a timely manner.

Continually assess patients’ condition, vital signs and labs and report abnormalities to physicians as they arise.

PICC line care and removal; Hemovac/JP drain care and removal; insulin administration and carb counting; lab draws as necessary; urinary catheter insertion and removal; assess dressings and change as needed.

Compile care plans and discharge instructions.

Communicate with patients and their families the plan of care and requirements necessary for discharge. Provide education of medications and side effects as well as necessary restrictions and exercises for a full recovery. Offer emotional support to patients and families.

Assessment of patients. Compiled care plans and discharge paperwork. Administered medications and orders as needed. Insertion/removal of urinary catheters. PEG tube care and administration of parenteral nutrition. Insulin administration, carb counting, NG tube insertion/removal. Insertion/ removal of IVs. PICC line care and removal.
