Troubleshoot and repair/rebuild PSM process equipment including compressors, centrifugal pumps, turbines, blowers, fans, reactors, centrifuges, gearboxes, and other critical process equipment. Ensure quality control by testing machines after repair or installation is completed. Install, align, and balance production machinery to ensure safe and efficient operations. Able to read blueprints and schematics expertly during installs of new equipment to adhere to safety standards.

Engaged in the collection of data for every piece of process equipment and wrote work orders to prevent the catastrophic failure of equipment. In doing so, increased overall reliability of all plant operations and equipment. As an ERT member/Chief on the Emergency response team it was my responsibility to oversee and facilitate all aspects of training to include but not limited to high angle rescue, basics of first aid, CPR, heart saver CPR, hazmat training, as well as train future ERT members in FF1 - FF3 classes onsite and at TEEX at the Texas A&M facilities. Involved closely with OSHA as well as outside safety consultants to ensure safety procedures between Oxy and OSHA were understood and fully adhered to.

Planned and scheduled maintenance work to meet production and schedule requirements during Oxy Vinyl's outages. Regularly performed routine maintenance as well as troubleshoot, maintain, and monitor production process equipment. Assisted in the all operations for startup and shutdown of all process equipment. Worked to improve the overall facility safety with regular inspections and hazard identification initiatives. Facilitated the ordering of all parts and building materials for unit improvement as well as new construction projects. The responsibilities entailed for this position were not limited to ordering and checking of parts, but to schedule and erect projects as well.

Assisted operations on all aspects of plant maintenance. Coordinated preventative maintenance on existing and new production equipment, including routine calibrations. Organized, prioritized, and managed plant maintenance projects to keep facility safe, efficient, and clean. Ordered and scheduled the construction of jobs as small as handrails to complete building erections, as well as basic maintenance duties.
