Director of Global and Community Engagement
- Build relationships with study abroad partners as well institutions globally to match Saint Vincent students with international education opportunities.
- Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) in SEVIS and ensure standards and ethics as recommended by SEVP (Student and Exchange Visitor Program) and NAFSA: Association of International Educators (National Association of Foreign Student Advisors) are followed by Saint Vincent College.
- Hold informational meetings and promote options for Saint Vincent students to participate in college-sponsored international trips, including Study Abroad and other travel opportunities.
- Cultivate relationships with faculty and other advisors to assess the curricular fit of current program options and to propose areas for future development as well as maintain professional contact with program partners.
- Engage in promotion and outreach in line with Office of Global and Community Engagement strategy and objectives and in collaboration with campus units and off-campus partners.
- Keep accurate university records for SVC global trips for students and possible travel for the purposes of Study Abroad/other global trip planning.
- Coach participants and families through the scholarship and application process and work to overcome barriers associated with studying abroad.
- Produce marketing, communication and action plans and to operationalized these plans including creating content for communications, ensuring promotion happens at the right time and via the correct channels.
- Help coordinate international campus initiatives related to study abroad, faculty led programs, international exchange programs, international student orientation, pre-departure and post-departure cultural programs, etc.
- Consult with College Counsel concerning contractual matters and institutional liability; articulate contract policies to program leaders
- Coordinate to assess and manage risk associated with travel programs, coordinate crisis response, communicate and implement policies and guidelines, streamline program development processes, develop and monitor performance indicators for programmatic success, and liaise with current and prospective study abroad partners.
- Collaborates to coordinate critical support and direction related to study abroad and study away programs, across all institutional and academic divisions.
- Coordinate risk management and crisis response protocols, policies, training, and contracts with approved providers for study abroad. Act as case manager and coordinate response for study abroad/away crises.
- Keep abreast of developments in the education abroad field by attending local and regional conferences and monitoring programs at other institutions.
- Advise and interact with campus offices on all aspects of Education Abroad Programs, including Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, Academic Advising, and Housing and Residence Life among others.
