To say it simply, Fishing is my Life. I have worked extremely hard over the last 13 years at the TroutHunter Lodge in Island Park Idaho. When I started as a dishwasher in the bar & Grill I knew immediately after meeting the guide staff that I wanted to become a Fishing guide.
Growing up In southern California my father and I would escape the big city and head out to the Eastern Sierra's to hunt wild brown and rainbow trout. From about 6 years old I had a passion for fishing. Growing up with most of my family in different parts of Montana I was fortunate enough to spend a few weeks every summer exploring different rivers and streams, Those include, Madison River, Gallatin River, The Big Hole, the Firehole, and other small streams in Yellowstone National Park, The South Fork of the Snake River, The North Fork of The Snake (Henry's Fork) along with the surrounding Lakes in the area. These rivers I am now proud to call not only my home but also "my office".
Now working as a guide in Idaho and Montana I own my own Clakacraft low pro 16 foot drift boat. I do not however have to much experience running saltwater watercraft but have always been extremely interested in running them.
My saltwater experiences the last 6-8 years have been incredible to say the least, after working very hard running the fly shop and guiding I was able to make this new dream a reality. I have been to Cuba 4 times in 5 years chasing Permit, Tarpon, Bonefish, Yellow Jack, Jack Trevalli, Red snapper, and other species of reef fish . The area I have fished most is called Jardines De La Riena, It is a large archipelago off off the southern coast of Cuba.
Also, Three years ago i was able to "Grand Slam" in Mexico catching all three sport fish in one day. (Tarpon, Bonefish, & Permit)
Florida has been a great for me to hone in my skills in the saltwater as well, I have been there 3 times fishing out of Vero Beach Florida chasing Snook, Red fish, Tarpon, Jack, and Lady fish.
All of these places except for Florida have been on weekly guided trips where I have been studying the skills necessary to become a Saltwater Captain.
