Continued duties as a PM/Estimator. In addition to running projects I took on more company roles such as mentoring/coaching project managers on successfully running projects in our Industrial division. I would show them what good ethics are in this business, never to cut corners for profit, and to deliver the best product we could to the owner. I also started doing all manpower management, placing Superintendents and craft employees on projects to make most efficient use of field employees. Reviewed estimates completed by others in regards to productions, required equipment, accuracy, maximizing profit, and best approach to the project prior to them being sent to owner/buyer. Worked with owner/leadership to develop an estimating department in order to pull some of this workload off the Project Managers, allowing them to run more projects.
Successfully managed multiple projects simultaneously. These were mainly heavy industrial involving excavation, concrete, and equipment installations. Managed all aspects of the project from start to finish which included- Estimating, Job set up, scheduling, cost projections, cost control, invoicing, meetings with owner, managing subcontractors and suppliers, final close out with owners.
Assisted PM's with all aspects of projects from estimating to final close out. Learned how to successfully run projects start fo finish. The last couple of years of being an APM, I was estimating and running projects on my own.
