Saws cast aluminum “logs” into standard length “billets”

Prior to cutting, inspects logs for surface and internal defects. Loads logs onto saw table as necessary. Forklift certified. Operates log feeder. Cuts logs into billets of prescribed length. Maintains proper flow of cutting lubricant. Determines proper cast identification for each billet; stamps each billet accordingly.

Inspects cut billets. Weighs all scrap and records weight. Segregates, identifies, and disposes of scrap.

Makes adjustments to equipment as necessary; reports any unusual conditions to supervisor. Changes saw blades and cutting solution as required. Performs maintenance checks on forklift truck.

Assists Cast House team with loading and unloading carts that are used to move cast logs through homogenizer furnace; may operate furnace as prescribed in operating instructions. Maintains clean and orderly workplace.

Observes safety rules and practices; reports any unsafe acts or conditions to supervisor.

Promoted safety awareness among crew members through regular meetings, training sessions, and adherence to safety protocols. Supervised landscaping teams, prioritizing tasks and giving feedback for quality control. Directed and supervised construction of fences, decks and other outdoor structures. Used trimmers and chainsaws for grounds maintenance, brush clearing, and tree removal and thinning. Drove company vehicle.
