I'm a Safety driven applicant, who has spent the past 4+ years ensuring that my guys are looked after. My strength in this department stems, not from classroom training, but my relatability to my guys on the floor. My 30+ years as a steelworker, makes me a very formidable safety coach. When you foster and cultivate relationships with your people on their level, (to a degree) they are more inclined to listen to, and accept/respect your reasonings. Show them that Safety is not the enemy of Production. Encourage them regularly to "find their reason". What is the reason you work safe? Is it your wife or husband? Your kids? Your mother or father, brother or sister? Who's life would be devastated if something happened to you? If you can't work safe for you, do it for them!
Here's some quick facts about me from the past 4 years.
