Elected Town Council Member

Town of Twin Bridges
06.2011 - 10.2013
  • I was elected in as a Twin Bridges town council member. Certain powers of a council are discretionary, which means council can decide whether or not to carry out that particular function. An example would be that the council has the ability to declare any day or part of a day as a civic holiday. Other duties are mandatory which means that council must perform the action required, such as "council shall establish the position of administrator". We would hold meetings once a month to discuss upcoming projects, building plans and more with city citizens. I was no longer able to hold this position as my husband and I purchased a home outside of city limits. A council member in the city of Twin Bridges is not allowed to hold his/her position if living outside of city limits. I enjoyed working for my one of my home towns’ and was saddened to have to give up my position on the council.
