  • About this role: Director responsible for leading all programs and organizing activities of national organization working at federal policy level
  • Developed new department and strategy at a time of massive organizational changeover (from 60+ person organization to staff of 7)
  • Designed and facilitated all virtual, online, and hybrid curricula and training sessions for young adults and parents across the country
  • Developed a nationally-recognized annual event, LD Day of Action, which mobilizes hundreds of young adults and parents from across the country to advocate on important education & disability policy issues with Congress
  • Designed multiple digital engagement campaigns, including My IDEA Matters in Spring 2020, On Our Minds in 2022, and a grassroots voting project called Our Time, Our Vote
  • Secured new grants to expand programming, totaling over $1 million in new revenues over the past 3 years, including private funding and a subcontract with national center funded by the Department of Education
  • Planned and conducted over two dozen focus groups with parents, young adults, and educators and helped launch our new annual survey of parents, educators, and young adults to monitor trends and collect data to fuel our policy work
  • Expanded programming to reach over 300 young adults in our leadership program, and tripled applications to our scholarship program from 500 annually prior to my tenure, to 3,000 in 2022
  • Built a brand new organizing model, and developed new impact measurement tools and metrics
  • In 2022 while organization went through 11 month leadership transition, led a strategic effort with the team to prioritize our work and impact goals in advance of our new CEO’s onboarding in 2023.
