I have been teaching languages for more than 21 years. which I can support with personal references. I have a Bachelor of Education with a major in Foreign Language Instruction . I have a Teaching License from the NC DPI. I have been using the ACTFL standards and guidelines for designing my lessons for the past five years. I like to use methods and teaching approaches that encourage students to learn and continue working when they are outside the classroom. I have used a student-centered approach to let the students solve problems, and answer and formulate questions of their own. I promote cooperative learning to get my students engaged in-group activities that help them to grow as individuals and as part of society. Throughout my teaching career, I have always been a tutor. I take this job extremely seriously. I regard my role as a tutor to be essential in promoting good attendance and punctuality. More importantly through relationship building, I encourage my pupils to take ownership of their own learning in knowing their strengths and what they need to do to progress and become more independent learners. I usually incorporate new apps and extensions to help develop innovative teaching materials and appropriate well-balanced assessment methods. If they are available, I like to use a combination of Smart Board, laptops or tablets, and online platforms to make my work and students’ learning simpler. It is my goal to combine my experience with my ability to be a compassionate, enthusiastic, and approachable Spanish/ESL Teacher who will make a positive contribution to your district. I believe my academic achievements and experience to date will provide a solid foundation to build on and transfer my knowledge and skills into providing the best learning environment for your students.
