  • A one-year ACGME accredited and ABA verified Burn and Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at Parkland Hospital at one of the largest and busiest burn centers in the United States.
  • Manage acute and reconstructive care of patients with thermal, chemical, electrical, and inhalation injuries in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Perform advanced surgical procedures, including burn excision, skin grafting, escharotomies, and complex soft tissue reconstruction.
  • Provide leadership and teaching to general surgery residents and medical students rotating through the burn service.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects and clinical research initiatives related to burn care and outcomes.

  • Primary research focused on investigating the role of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) in the development of heterotopic ossification, exploring mechanisms of muscle fibrosis, and evaluating the use of shortwave infrared (SWIR) imaging for non-invasive burn wound assessment.
