Site Safety Manager for PHLA in Carlisle PA, site population 550 associates and a staff in addition to 100 support team members.
Full change of Safety Team for site including, staffing, development, cost, performance metrics which includes bi-annual talent evaluations, daily/weekly performance reporting and all tasks with the incident management team.
Supported multiple sites within the Carlisle area and regional as required. Managed 2 site Safety teams in Q4 2024 when sister site had a gap. Was able to ensure all site gaps were closed and were able to ensure there were no misses in the compliance space.
Projected staffing requirements, partnered with stake holders at network level to fill open roles and support all interviews and hiring decisions.

November 2020 – November 2023 Outbound operations overseeing the staff for various shift. Generally, with 2-4 area managers reporting to me as well as 4-5 process assistants (supervisors) as well as 100-150 hourly associates. PHL4 is a fulfillment warehouse responsible for shipping out packages to the customers. As a management team we are responsible for safety, quality and cost while overseeing the associates who are fulfilling orders, packing and shipping those orders. From November 2020 – September 2022 I oversaw all Outbound weekly reporting to the region/network including cost, outbound quality and shipping measurements as well as other areas as directed.
Provided department labor planning for daily and weekly finance. Supported long term staffing/labor cost planning with regional finance for the department.
Drove improvement in quality metrics across all shifts with reductions in dock shipment quality focused on scan to trailer/pallet compliance which moved from a 94% average scan week to 99.5% scan compliance which over 300,000 weekly shipments meant a reduction in missed scans from 18,000 per week to under 1,500 per week. Drove improvements in site concessions in product packaging primarily through focusing on self-selection ship in own container to ensuring associates shipped in recommended packaging which reduced site defects in deliveries to customers reducing replacements and returns. Drove improvements scan/pick defects by focusing on missed scans and pick scans of wrong bin by focusing on scannable progression education and identifying top offenders and providing support.

Based on the timeframe of my starting with Amazon I took over the lead for initial Covid response within PHL4 and staffed personnel to support compliance as well as staffed for associate safety and compliance. Managed the testing efforts for the site.
Developed leaders from hourly associates to hourly supervisors to salary managers. Developed and supported the promotions of multiple leaders to the operations manager level.

Projected staffing requirements for standard operations and upstaffing requirements to support nuclear power plant refueling evolutions.Created training programs that impacted development, safety and quality improvements. Improved site retention through a difficult wage era in Washington where the site tenure as of my departure averaged more than 10 years. Managed and approved customer contracts including contracts to the US Dept of Energy, US Naval Reactors and Nuclear Power sites. I was the Radiation Safety Officer and certified hazardous materials shipper. (Radioactive) I was responsible all compliance locally for the radioactive materials license, safety compliance (OSHA/WISHA and advancement of safety programs, DOT compliance, permitting and all training. We have achieved full bonus each year I have held this position and exceeded both revenue and profit expectations which included FY2019 my last full year employed at UniTech. UniTech is an ISO 9002:2015 and 14001:2015 certified company, the Richland location led the way with initial ISO certification in 1996. At UniTech I was an ISO lead Auditor, I created and managed the ISO program and managed through all ISO audits. I managed the facility through both annual site radioactive materials audits and safety audits when applicable. Managed through NAVSEA audits from Naval Reactors. Created all site capital project requests and generated supporting documentation to request corporate financial funding and amortization of funds.
Accomplishments included supporting the closure of Rocky Flats DOE site in Golden Colorado from Richland Washington from 1998 through 2005 with 4-6 trailer loads of materials per week.
Supported Hanford DOE site in Richland Washington from 1993 through tenure with PPE and other materials in support the site cleanup. (580 sq miles) Hanford was home to the majority of the USA’s plutonium generation/creation.
Supported Idaho National Laboratories from 1993 through tenure in SE Idaho home to numerous test reactors and a Naval training reactor.
Supported the USN at Puget Sound Naval Ship Yard with PPE and material support when the site was providing maintenance to nuclear vessels.
