Crane Engineer

  • Currently working at the largest port maintenance company on the west coast, and currently at the largest container terminal on the west coast, APM, or more commonly known as MAERSK
  • Employed as a crane maintenance engineer I work daily with union mechanics to troubleshoot mechanical issues as well as PLC and Drive issues
  • I also work as a manager for the crane shop; this consisted of managing and directing 20+ mechanics on a daily basis to accomplish preventative maintenance, heavy repairs, and operational support
  • Working with the mechanics we provided constant support for the terminals operational needs to prevent downtime of the cranes. As well as routine maintenance to the cranes in order to keep them operational.

  • Interned at a global engineering company working in their battery department for hybrid vehicles
  • Working in the battery department entailed hand assembling high voltage battery packs and HI-POT testing, as well as pairing them together in parallel to a successful completion of the battery unit; this unit was being used multiple different types of vehicles
  • I also worked with multiple cars in their dyno lab finding the maximum potential for electric motors and assembled vehicles.

Undergrad Projects

  • Solar Panel Blimp, Supervised and led a team discovering innovative ways to use solar panels for the purpose of building a Blimp that is self-sufficient. Modeling the blimp using 3D computer aided design, we then built the blimp to completion.
  • Solar Powered Desalination, Worked with a team to research, and a portable desalination device that is entirely powered by solar power. Using computer aided design software and design analysis we are currently in the assembly stage of our project.
