My experience in food services began as a teenager working at the local Banquet Hall Mario's performing duties from setting up event rooms and tear downs, washing pots and pans by hand, using the industrial dish washer and silver ware machines. Also assisted in food preparation and stocking.
My VA experience in the kitchen included use of industrial dishwashing equipment, meal service delivery, setup food trays according to dietary restrictions/needs.
Used MSDS for cleaning and sanitation of machines, delivery carts and other equipment.
I began my career at the VA in the hospital kitchen as a food service worker. I prepped,cooked and delivered meals over two years.
As a senior manger at the VA, I was actively involved in many operations including but not limited to:
decontamination and sterilization
procurements of all nutrition and dietary requirements to sustain the daily food services for a 300-500 bed in patient facility
performed environmental safety evaluation and assessments of the inpatient kitchen department and various stations therein.
