Professional development:
Started my career at Our Lady of the Lake RMC on Car 1 night shift was under Ms. Miranda, Ms Kathy, and Ms Rosa in year 1. Began charging over a young group within three months. Managing staffing within pod system and managing patient load, through assignments. Made the move onto MICU for a more tasking challenge. For the next three years, worked under Kevin Pheifer as manager, Belinda Beaver and Chris Volentine as my direct supervisors on day and night shift rotations. Managing the sickest patients in the worst situation of their lives. Charged on days and nights as well. I was then hired into the float pool, looking to deepen my skillset. At this point, I wanted to see every unit and the vast inter workings of the hospital. Again, I charged on every unit ICU or any of the inpatient units in the hospital along with stents in the PACU and ER.
Opened and worked in every COVID unit once that time arose. COVID opened up another realm for my career. Growing in that time with communication with patient's families and really running on the fly each shift and making a rough situation a bit smoother for the staff and the people affected at that time.
Went back into the ICU with MSCC, to reevaluate management at a closer level. Through observation and coordination with my supervisors and my director.
