I was a Fuel handler for 2 years and did the following duty's.
1) Perform work in a safe manner at all times, observing all employee rules and safe work procedures (ref: HR-US2-004) 2) Perform daily equipment safety checks and reports as required per MSHA regulations.
3) Checks safety berms, banks & highwalls visually for safe operation of equipment and personnel during shift acitivities.
4) Must understand cement process; including placement of correct "fuel" in correct silo, bin and/or hopper. Includes loader bucket/truck bed/trailer inspections for potential contamination issues.
5) Fuel handling includes use of loaders, unloaders, trackmobile, trucks [excludes 100 ton class and above], associated unloading equipment, dedicated storage areas for fuel such as coal, pet cokes, and pennitted alternative fuels.
6) Operate all necessary mobile equipment for fuel handling, or grounds and road maintenance associated with fuel handling.
7) Be qualified to operate heavy equipment, including wheel loaders{not 992 class machines}, plant water truck, 40-60t off-road haul truck, manlift, forklift, trackmobile or other equipment as directed. Understand safe operation of all the equipment identified. Typical duties can require the daily operation of any of this equipment during a shift.
8) Operate equipment and processes as directed by the Yard/Shippng Supervisor, or in their absence, the Process Control Supervisor (PCS).
9) Understand operation of conveying equipment and associated systems (belt conveyor, pan conveyors, drag chain/s, elevators, screw conveyors, tipping valves, rotary airlocks, gates, chutes, transfer points, belt cleaners),

8) Maintenance Program: Understand and apply all aspects of the maintenance program (preventive and corrective maintenance, reporting, etc). Maintain, repair, install and replace mechanical systems and associated equipment independently or subordinate to technical leadership
9) Manufacturing Operatons: Monitor and perform field inspections on equipment. Will take action (reporting, operate, repair, clean, feed, adjust, clear, etc) on field equipment and process generated by inspections.
10) General Requirements: Must be able to perform all technical aspects of the job by using all tools or systems required to perform work (vibration analysis, comparator, micrometers, theodolite, inclometer and welding machines). Must understand and apply all administration and safety procedures throughout the plant. Requires an ability to read understand and apply all schematics, drawings, technical publications, control logic diagrams required or related to the job.
