  • Built a Detailed Transaction table for PeopleSoft Accounting Actuals Working closely with a PeopleSoft consultant from CIBER, developed a proposal for a table to be built from 8 Accounting Lines tables in PeopleSoft
  • Meeting periodically with personnel from Finance, fine-tuned the design of the table to meet specific requirements for Finance
  • Developed a set of 8 individual SQL scripts to extract data from the respective Accounting Lines tables, and constructed a single table for this extract
  • Proved the results were correct by writing a Java program to compare the Detail Transaction values to PeopleSoft General Ledger table
  • Found some discrepancies between the Detail Transaction table and the General Ledger
  • Wrote a java program to drill down the differences to the account and the journal entries associated with these differences
  • Apparently, this nature of reporting does not exist anywhere in the PeopleSoft standard reporting or in the customization
  • Spent two weeks with the MS Access Developers reviewing and documenting every aspect of the Budget Tool, including forms, tables, procedures, SQL scripts, and reports
  • Captured all of my notes in a word document that was distributed to IR and Budget personnel for review
  • Wrote a java program to combine all the Merit spreadsheets into a single spreadsheet
  • Wrote a SQL script to prepare a report to the VP of Budget and Finance on the cost of administrative support personnel to the University
  • This report was part of a presentation made to the president as a proposal for job enrichment for this staff.

  • My assignments included conversion of several VSAM files to DB2 tables, and the corresponding rewrite of the associated batch and CICS PL/1 programs
  • Also developed several new CICS screens and batch programs
  • Original contract was for 6 months, but was extended several times for a total of 14 months.

  • Implementing batch processes in COBOL, MVS, DB2 and Teradata to support tax exempt customer verification for Sam's club and Wal-Mart
  • Several states have agreed to verify a quarterly electronic transmission of customer data to ensure those customers have a valid tax-exempt status – this in turn relieves Wal-Mart of any liability for uncollected taxes for customers who may not in fact be tax exempt
  • Responsibilities include building batch data streams of customer data, and making those files available for remote FTP access by participating states
  • Also responsible for taking the return data from each of the states and preparing customer profiles for reporting for those customers with issues with their tax-exempt status
  • I have the overall responsibility for determining user requirements, turning those requirements into specifications, and implementing the requirements.

  • Mainframe systems are based in the MVS operating system, and are written in PL/1
  • The proposed UNIX based system has been used to successfully replace simple mainframe systems at SABRE
  • The task is to determine if a more complex system could be replaced as well
  • MVS assignments to change OS JCL and PL/1 programs in order to support phased Unix implementations
  • UNIX assignments to develop shell scripts in ksh and bash to support the conversion effort
  • Contract is for 10 months – September 2006, through June 2007.

  • The primary product, CustomerWatch, is based upon open-source technology utilizing Java as the implementation language
  • CustomerWatch is designed to access open-source relational databases, including Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2
  • My responsibilities include providing programming development support for new releases of the product, as well as custom changes for new customers
  • Primary responsibility is developing conversions for new customers into CustomerWatch
  • Most recent assignment requires interfacing to customer data stored in MS Access databases for 45,000 customers
  • My conversion proceeds by reading the MS Access tables via an open-source SQL processor and populating the proper CustomerWatch tables and columns, for this customer in Oracle
  • The conversion deals with approximately 60 tables with 700 plus columns
  • Also, generally responsible for designing/implementing the integration of external data sources into CustomerWatch
  • I use Eclipse as an IDE and CVS for source code version control
  • Wrote several PL//SQL scripts to support the conversion.
