John Hazlett

Responsible for all Fire and E.M.S. responses for the city. Over see all operations and budget (4.5 million dollars). Supervise 1 deputy Chief , 5 Captains, 4 Lieutenants in Fire Suppression, Training, Fire Prevention and Public Education, and Code Enforcement. Work with the City Commissioners and the Mayor and sit on the Planning Board.

Developed pre fire plans to ensure fastest and most effective response to fires.

Administrator for ambulance billing , providing city with revenue.

Prepared departmental orders and notices to inform personnel of pertinent information.

Monitored training and assisted department in becoming a on site training facility , to allow for the most cost effective training.

Worked with other departments in the city to maintain an organized approach to problems and daily operations.

Training officer responsible for all C.P.R., Ocean Rescue, and First Aid training.

Standard Operating Procedures for water rescues, medical emergencies, and radio procedures.

Coordinated water rescue responses with the fire department.

Supervised 65 lifeguards and 20 beach fee officers, and enforced all city ordinances, to maintain safe beaches.

Kept records of all lost children and acted as liaison officer with the Ventnor Police Department.
