Summary

It is my personal belief that advanced practice nursing should focus on caring for individuals across the lifespan in a manner that integrates continuously evolving science, skill mastery, and on-going compassion during every patient encounter. The holistic care provided to patients and their families should be driven by empathy, respect, and integrity with the principle understandings that every patient encounter is unique and every patient population displays vast cultural diversity. My background in critical care nursing and pursuit of a specialized academic focus on emergency/trauma care has shaped my belief that advanced practice providers should incessantly strive to be critical thinkers and forever pursue continuing education to keep critical thinking skills in alignment with the rapidly advancing field of healthcare. These skills directly translate into telemedicine/asynchronous practice with a focus on patient safety and patient satisfaction.
