I started as a heavy equipment mechanic and worked my way up to shop foreman and then master mechanic. As the Master Mechanic I was the lead for the shop in Fairbanks as well as eight other shops on the Trans Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS).
During summer months I worked on construction projects as a field mechanic. Maintaining the equipment used on the project. During winter months i worked in the shop repairing and rebuilding equipment.
Operated all equipment used to rebuild automotive and industrial engines. I did final inspection and assembly of engines.
I would also manage the shop during foreman's absence.
I tore down and inspected the engines, rebuilt cylinder heads, turned flywheels, recondition connecting rods.
