  • Lead Public Engagement efforts by maintaining relationships with neighborhood, business, educational, and civic groups. These efforts led to the City of Independence passing its first ever General Obligation bond in its history in 2025 to fund $55 million for Infrastructure projects.
  • Execute the annual City of Independence Federal & State Legislative Agendas. These efforts have led to the City of Independence receiving over $11 million in federal funding for infrastructure projects, securing $1 million in federal funding for improvements to the Truman Home and saving the City of Independence over $30 million in funding by blocking state legislation harmful to the City of Independence.
  • Work directly with the City Communications team on effective communications strategies to inform and educate the public. This includes planning and conducting over 100 community meetings and events such as the first Heritage Festival in Independence. A city-wide Listening Tour for the Mayor to visit different neighborhoods and schools. Worked with community leaders to plan and conduct public meetings between City Councilmembers and the public in the four City Council neighborhoods.
  • Conduct research for the City Manager and City Council as needed.
