Ministry Experience

  • Executive Director and CEO of Into The Light Ministries (2021-Present). Into The Light is a studio ministry that partners with Christian authors and speakers to produce documentaries, podcasts, and video resources on biblical sexuality. We exist to see a generation of Christians who delight in God's good design for sexuality and are equipped to face pornography, gender confusion, and sexual sin. My role is to lead this ministry in fundraising, marketing, filming, editing, and project management. In 2021, we began working on Into The Light, a teaching documentary on freedom from pornography. It is now available for free on our website, Intothelightministries.ca.
  • Into The Light Podcast (2022-Present). As part of Into The Light, I host a podcast where I interview authors and experts and hear stories of change.
  • The Exalted Christ Music Evenings (2022). My wife and I organized live events called The Exalted Christ. At both events, we led songs with a full orchestra, band, and organ, raising funds.
  • Formal and Informal discipling in the church (2021-2024). After joining Living Hope, I was asked by the elders to mentor/disciple a 13-year-old young man from the church struggling with pornography. We met every other week to work through a book together. Now, at HLBC, I am involved in more informal relationships.
  • Safe Families Niagara (2020-2023). Safe Families Niagara is a ministry to families in crisis. I was trained with Safe Families to be able to be a mentor to young boys from Niagara, Canada. For the past three years, I have been a mentor for a seven-year-old boy from a single-parent family.
  • Accountability Group (2017-2024). AG is a men's weekly accountability group I started with three other brothers. Our mission and vision is: "We are an accountability group that confronts sexual sin by grounding our identity as men forgiven and saved by Christ. Our desire is to grow closer to Christ and each other through accountability, Bible study, prayer, and community. Through confession and vulnerability, we enable men to both confront sexual impurity and grow in Christian living."
  • Young People's President (2017-2021). In the church I grew up in, Immanuel URC, I led the young people's group for one year as vice president and three years as president. This role includes running meetings, leading weekly Bible studies, delegating tasks, and planning the year's materials.
  • Mission trip to Colombia (3 Months in 2017). Ethnos 360 has a theological training school in Fusugasuga, Colombia, which trains indigenous Christian men and women to go into the local jungles and preach the gospel to the unreached of Colombia. I spent three months there on the team, leading a work project and teaching some basic trade skills to the students.
  • Hymn Sing Worship and Evangelism (2016-2020). Every Friday night in the summer, 20-100 young people from churches in the Niagara region would get together and sing hymns on a popular beachfront walkway. As we would sing, people would stop to listen, and I would go up to them and share the gospel.
  • Migrant Ministry Music (2015-2022). My uncle, Wilfred Bout, started a ministry for Mexican migrant workers who come to do seasonal farm work in Niagara, Canada. Every Sunday night, he leads a service in Spanish. For seven years, I played bass to accompany the music.
  • Migrant Ministry ESL (2017-2020). During school semesters, the same Migrant ministry would do ESL classes to help Mexicans and Guatemalans learn English. My role was as an assistant to Wilfred Bout, teaching the Mexicans, helping with pronunciation, and occasionally leading the short devotional.
