  • From September 2023 until my retirement in February 2024, I maintained the position of Jail Director for the Walton County Sheriff's Office. During this time I was responsible for approximately 140 employees, an inmate population ranging from 300-500. Within this count was housing for other agencies, The Marshal Service, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.). As part of the staff coverage areas under my command including the following: The Courthouse and Courthouse Annex Bailiff's, Warrants and Civil Process Division, Extradition, Inmate Work Crews and Inmate Work Programs (13 total). All of the Jail Medical, Mental Health, and Food Service were in house and under my command with no contract companies utilized. During this time and in my prior position as the Operations Captain. I maintained a close and informative relationship with our Human Resources and Finance Division, understanding the importance of this direct line of communication.
  • Prior to being promoted to the Jail Director I was the Operations Captain for the Walton County Jail from February 2017 until September 2023. During this time I supervised all Divisions of the Jail with the exception of Medical, Mental Health, and Food Service. Encompassing approximately 95 staff members and an inmate population at times reaching over 500 for extended periods of time. From October 2015 until February 2017 I served as a Shift Commander for two of the four assigned shifts. This included approximately 50 staff members and an inmate population of 300-500. Prior to my employment with the Walton County Sheriff's Office I was employed with the Florida Department of Corrections for sixteen and a half years. During this time I worked my way up through the ranks to Shift Lieutenant.
