  • Worked here as a Tig welder and Pipe fitter as a certified ASME welder.
  • This company mainly focused on manufacturing standard, custom, and to-be-repaired fabricated Air-Cooled Heat Exchangers.
  • Materials on Exchangers included but were not limited to carbon steels, stainless steels and nickel alloys with varying thicknesses.
  • Drilled all hole lay-outs in pipe headers and also cut /bent tubing to exact angle or degree required to assemble to the tube sheets.
  • Fabricated and welded all piping and tubing components in line with design specifications for each system.
  • I would perform (NDE) Liquid-Penetrant Examination process on all welds prior to Code testing.
  • When all fabrication was complete we would perform an ASME code pneumatic test and have a third party inspector witness successful testing.
  • Left this position to take an opportunity as an Welding Inspector with Signal Metal Industries.

  • Got this job opportunity through the completion of the Welding courses i attended in Mesquite Texas.
  • Worked as AWS certified 3G FCAW repair welder in a wind tower fabrication shop.
  • Sub-arc welder would weld carbon steel girth and long seams that would be UT tested to find defects that would required repair.
  • I would map out defects according to UT inspectors and carbon air arc gouge the defects on 3/8"-2" carbon steel rolled plate and perform Dual - Shield FCAW welds and profile repair welds to be UT tested for acceptance.
  • There were 80-200 threaded couplings that would be welded with 309L .045" wire on rolled carbon steel plate and flanges as needed.
  • When i left Marmen to move back to Texas i had a 90% UT pass rate and a 94% Visual pass rate.
