I have over 17 years of experience with Con Edison. I have spent my career in Substations and have had multiple roles from Mechanic, Supervisor, Sr. Planning Analyst, and Field Ops Planner. I have built an extensive background in Electrical Construction within Substations through my experience in my different roles. I have developed and honed my skills with communication, team building and leadership throughout my career. I am goal oriented, and I have a history of being flexible and responding to emergencies to help provide reliable service to our customers.
My responsibilities are to manage our supervisor and work force to meet the needs of the capital portfolio. I ensure our supervisors have the right tools to be able to manage the work force safely. I also work with engineering and the project management team during the planning and construction phases of the projects. Since most of our work revolves around equipment outages, I pay special attention to our resources to be able to support the outages. It is crucial we return our equipment back in the timely manner we planned for. I am currently working with the planning group to allocate our resources for future years to anticipate all the new work.
My responsibilities included managing projects and scheduling outages on our bulk power and distribution system. While managing projects, I was responsible for overseeing all aspects including but not limited to financials and financial forecasting, scheduling, appropriations, budgets, and quality of the service/product delivered. I also lead my project teams through the scoping, design, construction, testing, and training phases. As a Program Manager, you must deliver the project on time and on budget to its respective sponsors and customers. During the implementation of BCO (Business Cost Optimization), it was determined that I would manage all Capital and O&M outages within Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island. I worked with System Operations to develop a 2-year outage plan to help provide our Project Mangers with one of their major deliverables required for their construction phase. In addition, I was expected to maintain the Capital Projects Meeting where we communicated openly to multiple organizations involved with our Substation Projects and Programs. It was also expected that I keep our equipment requiring outages in compliance and help facilitate our summarization process.
My primary responsibilities were to ensure the safe and productive installation of construction projects. In addition, I was expected to plan resources accordingly. Such tasks included daily job assignments, rental equipment, procurement of material, and organize with other departments. It was expected of me to plan within electrical outage confinements to ensure our activity would not impact the outage dates. The product and quality of construction had to meet our customer needs and standards while keeping our personnel safe.
