John Simpson

In my capacity as a counselor, I have also served as an instructor for Positive Parenting Practices for children with ADHD at the Jordan Family Education Center (JFDC) for six years. This role has enabled me to gain a thorough understanding of the strategies and support systems that promote success in students with ADHD. Our program offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to assist parents in managing their children's ADHD symptoms. Most of the parents we work with have children in elementary school, providing valuable insights into the early educational challenges and accomplishments that influence a student's academic trajectory.

Currently, I serve as the Lead Counselor for the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. In collaboration with the IB Coordinator and with support from IB teachers and administration, we are in the process of developing an IB program at West Jordan High School. Additionally, I am in my fourth year serving as the Advanced Placement (AP) Coordinator.

This multifaceted experience in educational counseling and program development has equipped me with a broad skill set to support diverse student needs and enhance academic programs.
