  • Sworn Patrol Officer, Community Liaison Officer, 1994-2007
  • As a Community Liaison Officer for 10 years, I managed relationships with dozens of community groups, civic leaders all over the City along with implementing proactive community policing strategies. Testified at City Council hearings, strategized with City department heads within City Hall on various homeless crisis policies and abandoned/drug infested housing.
  • Promoted to Sergeant, 2007.
  • Sergeant assignments: Patrol (east side), Internal Affairs Investigator, Crime Scene Search Unit Sergeant.
  • Night shift Patrol Sergeant for 3 years (2007-2010) supervising near east side precincts. I provided critical incident command during numerous serious criminal incidents, to include several homicide scenes and officer involved death incidents.
  • Internal Affairs Investigator for the next five years (2010-2016). My responsibility was to conduct internal investigations, addressing both ethical violations and procedural discrepancies among officers. I managed a large caseload while navigating relevant labor - management contracts. Regular meetings in City Hall with Safety Director and/or their authorized representatives.
  • Completed 31 years of service without receiving a citizen complaint or allegation of wrongdoing.
  • Received excellent marks in every personnel evaluation since my promotion in 2007 to the last received in mid-2025.
