Growing up on the front range of the Colorado Rockies, outdoor activities were simply a way of life. From hiking to the summits of Pikes Peak, Mount Evans, and the The Sangre de Cristo Mountains of southern Colorado. I have also been to the top of Mount Charleston 8 times. I enjoy riding my mountain bike over desert and mountain trails, with my Labrador and Doberman running along. I road bike to a from work daily, weather, and road construction permitting. I also enjoy weekend road bike trips, sometimes riding over a 100 miles in a day. I believe that physical activity promotes good health and sound thinking.
I began my fly fishing adventures as a young lad, and have fished many of the great trout streams in the lower 48, and Canada. I have been a professional performing musician since the age of 15. I have opened for, Roomful of Blues, Albert Collins, Muddy Waters, Mose Allison, and more. I have also performed Roy Rogers jr, Pine Tope Perkins and The Legendary Blues Band, and others. I am proud to say that I shook B.B. Kings hand, a moment that I remember everyday. I also enjoy gathering with friends and playing through the Real Book jazz tunes, and generally having a great time. However, my greatest joy, comes from teaching music, and watching young minds develop.
